The brief story is that before Nadja was even walking, back in the 70s, Joy painted with her. Joy has had exhibitions and sold many paintings over the years, in addition to gaining her qualifications as a psychotherapist and family counselor and having a very successful private practice that sometimes incorporates encouraging others to paint.
Nadja went onto study art gaining a MA at Melbourne University in Fine Arts and a Post Grad in Design at University of NSW. Nadja is now the teacher and even though Joy is still the artist, she is also the student. They both love vibrant color and layering for a deep textured effect. They often paint together at the family property in Hepburn Springs, and in Fitzroy. They are not attached to having a studio and can be seen painting on verandas, roads on the property, kitchen, back deck, car port, even the back alley.
