ARTIST BIO

VICTORIA NEWNHAM

“I paint from life whenever I can. I love to observe the play of light and try to capture the essence of a particular moment. There is an intimacy with a subject drawn out of deep concentration that makes a special painting part of my memory and soul. A print is left in my being.”

Victoria Newnham  has lived in Melbourne, Australia for most of her life.

Artists she has studied with include June Woods, David Taylor, Malcolm Beattie, Joseph Zbukvich, and Don James.

Since 2005 her work has been exhibited and sold privately and through art exhibitions and shows, including Mt Waverley Art Show, Sorrento Rotary Art Show, Camberwell Art Show, Yarra Glen Art Show and AGRA Galleries.

She was part of the Class A.C.T. exhibition at A.G.R.A. in October 2008. Predominantly her subject matter is local landscapes and Melbourne life.

She has recently joined the 2nd Saturday Painters and enjoys painting on site with them. She also paints interiors and still life.

She is currently a Councillor with the Australian Guild of Realist Artists.
