Golden Frenzy by Janette Doyle

Features

ARTIST NOTES: This piece of art work comes from walking through the city and witnessing a huge fish tank which inspired me to recreate.

Full of large goldfish all crammed in together, I loved the colours and chose to paint it in a realistic style representative of my original impression.

ARTIST BIO

Inspired by my love of the natural world and the fragility and strength of all my wildlife subjects; my work has been influenced by the beauty within nature itself. I regularly visit the reserves in my home town of Warrandyte, Victoria to explore the animal and bird life in their natural habitat. Kookaburras often frequent our balcony at home and I create work which conveys a great affection for my subjects.

Current works are a mixture of wildlife and botanical art. A diversion to the human figure; hands in particular is recent. I am personally exploring different genres to express myself, with pleasing results but with full intent to remain faithful to my love of wildlife and the calming effect I find in nature.

Until recently I had not pursued formal art training since leaving high school and following a career path in Nursing. I regard Art as one of my fondest hobbies and pursue many forms of it including painting, folk art, cake decorating, bridal floristry and woodwork. In 2011 I chose to broaden my field of reference and am currently undertaking a Diploma in Visuals Arts at Melbourne CAE. I am a member of both the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia (WASA) and the Australian Guild of Realist Artists (AGRA).

I am an enthusiastic painter, choosing to use the best products available. Oil on linen is my preferred medium though I have produced numerous paintings in acrylic on canvas in the past.

I wish to develop works of art to capture the essence of a subject and to glorify an awesome God. Only He deserves the glory and praise for allowing us to enjoy His creations. What better way to stand in awe than to paint the sun catching the feathers of a bird or the raindrops on a leaf. If I can portray a fraction of what God has fashioned then I will have accomplished what I set out to do.
