Elaine Young was born in Tasmania and moved to Melbourne in 1958. Elaine joined Waverley Arts Society in 1977 and attended Carol Boothman's classes. Painting in oils and choosing classically beautiful subjects, Elaine has been honoured with numerous awards for her paintings, which she has exhibited with small groups and in Art Shows.
Awards at Waverley Arts Society include; First Prize Oil Painting 1983, 1985, 1977, Most Popular Painting 1987, Second Prize Oil Painting 1998, Best Acrylic 1999, Best Oil 2007 along wit six paintings Highly Commended. Elaine has also won awards at Wesley College, St Margaret's Berwick, Ivanhoe Grammar, Roberts McCubbin Primary School, St Kevin's and the Camberwell Rotary Arts Show. |
