I was born in the mountain town of Tallangatta, in 1937, and was raised on a farm in the Kiewa Valley, Victoria. I began drawing at an early age and was encouraged by my art teacher to pursue it passionately. The moment I set eyes upon the works of Hans Heysen and Albert Namatjira I was forever inspired by their expression and use of Australian colours.
I have sold paintings throughout Australia and Canada. My impressionist pieces have made my very fond memories of home come to life, and I endeavour to capture the Australian landscape and seascape in all its natural beauty. I have an Art Studio and work space in Whittlesea, Victoria, and frequently use the surrounding areas as inspiration to form each piece.
I have worked with Oils for many decades, and have begun using acryllic paints in my most recent exhibits. I have been involved in the Seymour Art show, Whittlesea Show, Whittlesea Art Society and in previous years I entered the Herald Sun outdoor Art Show, Moomba Art show.
I will continue to paint into my twilight years, and look forward to working on my next piece.
