Andy has always been interested in drawing and painting, but it is only since retirement in 2005 that she has been able to devote time to pursuing her artistic talents. Andy has insatiable curiosity of different cultures, their art, textiles, crafts, architecture, symbols, and beliefs. This inquisitiveness has fired her passion to travel to different countries to learn about traditions in arts / crafts that have been handed down through the different generations. She is fascinated with the variety of rhythms, textures, colour, and patterns found in different cultures and in the natural environment.
Andy enjoys experimenting and painting with different media and materials to communicate her ideas, emotions and thoughts.
Andy is a member of the Mornington Regional Gallery and the Oak Hill Gallery, Mornington. She is also a member of Studio Sorrento. Andy is currently completing a Diploma of Visual Arts at Chisholm, Frankston. |
