Doc Wight started painting in 1999 and has been tutored by Judy Brooks in Adelaide, where his work was encouraged by his friend, gallery owner Richard Llewellyn. In Melbourne he had further instruction from Jan McBride and Raphael Zimmerman at Hawthorn Artists Society and Richard Granville-Smith at his Healesville studio. Doc has mainly sold work privately, including several works in the lobby of 406 Collins St Melbourne and Laguna Langkawi in Malaysia. He has dontaed works for charity auction at the Australian National Academy of Music, PILCH and ALDS.
With a big interest in eastern psychology, music and as an art therapist he has tried to work with colour and the interplay of emotions.
Doc paints frequently in his two garden studios in Hawthorn. |
