Jeanette Sellwood
More than 25 years of painting, exhibiting, and teaching have now gone by.
My particular interest has always been towards people/portraiture, including animals. Elements of nature, especially light are of importance, and I endeavour to enhance my subjects with the inclusion of colour and atmosphere.
I have drawn hundreds of portraits at fairs and markets in Victoria and Queensland.
Workshops that I have held were in Shepparton (Vic), Southport (Qld), Magnetic Island (Qld), Townsville(Qld) and Cairns(Qld).
I have tutored at the invitation of many Artists Societies, from Victoria, N.S.W, and Quilpie and beyond to Bowen.
My pastel portraits have awarded me over 20 commendations, people's choice awards and 1st prizes.
Several that I recall are;
Camberwell Rotary section winner (Pastel portrait)
Bright Art Gallery (Aquisitive 1st )
Bright Art Show (Aquisitive 1st Mt. Hotham Chalet)
Cobram Rotary Art Show (Portrait 1st )
Shepparton Kiwanis (Portrait 1st)
Broadbeach Artist Society (1st Prize)
AGRA Online Art Comp. (finalist)
At the invitation of International Artist Magazine, a portait of my sister was displayed in Master Painters of The World section.
Australian Artist magazine has featured my pastel portrait techniques.
Many of my paintings hang in homes within Australia and from New Zealand to Japan, Ireland, London and America.
